About the event
Oliver Neale performs with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on the renowned Klais organ of Birmingham Symphony Hall, for ‘An Evening with Rushil Ranjan’: celebrating the combining of South Asian and Western classical music traditions.
From the co-creator of the Orchestral Qawwali Project and recently-announced CBSO Collaborative Artist, Rushil Ranjan, comes a one-of-a-kind concert where traditions meet, voices intertwine, and music speaks beyond borders.
At the heart of the concert is the world premiere of Rushil’s new commission, written for the CBSO and acclaimed vocalist Abi Sampa, with conductor Melvin Tay at the helm. This bold new work weaves together South Asian and Western classical traditions, revealing their natural harmony and shared emotional depth.
